Born in Prague, Katka Adams came to Australia in 1969 as a political refugee following the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. After graduating with a Visual Arts degree from Sydney College of the Arts in 1985 she moved to Lismore where she continued studying drawing and painting at the North Coast Institute of TAFE, graduating with distinction in 2000.
An award-winning artist, with over 15 solo exhibitions held across NSW and Queensland she is a frequent finalist in numerous national art awards. Her short film, Finding Home, a collaboration with Catherine Marciniak was a finalist at the Byron All Shorts competition in 2020.
Katka lives in Clunes, a village in the Northern Rivers of NSW – Australia
